Finding God

When we feel like God is far from us, I think there are really only one of two reasons. Before we go there, let’s think of our lives with God like this. We are walking a path through the woods, sometimes it’s dark, and sometimes its’ beautiful. While walking this path, we are told that God is guiding us, teaching us, and sometimes He will be testing us. To be certain of this, we are given a map/cheat sheet. This map/cheat sheet is what we call the Bible. Now, for the reasons, I believe God can feel far from us. The first, is that God isn’t far from us, rather we are far from God. God is constant, and we have been given that map/cheat sheet to instruct us and teach us what way to go. When we feel that God has left us, we likely have wondered from the path that has been laid out for us on that map. The other reason I think it can seem like God is far from us, is because He is teaching us. Think back to school when you were taking a test. Was the teacher talking or silent? Look to the Bible. Are you on the right path? If so, what is God teaching you? God is constant and His faithful love never ends.
