Lake Superior Christian Church is a non-denominational fellowship of believers who have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and wear no name but Christian.
We believe that Christ is the head of His Church, and therefore, every Christian is a part of His Body. We do not believe that we are the only Christians, but earnestly strive to be Christians only. We seek to speak where the Bible speaks, and remain silent where the Bible is silent. We take the Bible alone as our only rule of faith and practice.
Because the original Church that we read about in the Bible was a Church where salvation made you a member, so LSCC follows that pattern. We refuse to impose upon people more than the Word of God asks to be a Christian, nor require less than the Word states. Therefore, membership here requires that one believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and be obedient in baptism, which scripturally is the burial in water of a repentant believer.
The Christian family at LSCC is eager to meet you and get to know you. You will find nothing elaborate or pretentious, but you will find a fellowship where love reaches out and God reaches down to welcome and receive you.
I am proud to say that I am a Yooper through and through. I was born and raised just five miles down the road from Lake Superior Christian Church in Briarwood subdivision. I remember starting my journey with LSCC as a preschooler when my mom was the teacher. As I grew up I attended many church activities including Vacation Bible School, youth group, conferences, and mission trips. I am truly blessed in that God has called me to serve in my home church.
I received a B.A. in Biblical Theology and Christian Education from Great Lakes Christian College in 2000 and served at a church in lower Michigan from 1999-2003 as the Youth Minister. I returned to the U.P. in June of 2003 to begin serving this congregation as the Youth Minister and since May of 2015, God has blessed me with the opportunity to help lead our church in my current role as Lead Minister.
I married my high school sweet-heart, Michelle, in 2001 and we have two beautiful girls, Priya and Avalyn. I enjoy competition and therefore love to engage in virtually every sport that is out there. I know just enough about cars to be dangerous when it comes to repair work. To quote Kip from the movie Napoleon Dynamite, “I love technology”. Some of my other interests include working with the local fire department, mountain biking, and playing my guitar.
I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus and I want others to be able to say the same. My prayer is that God will use our church to accomplish His plans and purposes. If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Hi! I'm Stephanie and I'm married to Dan. I have 3 young children, 2 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, rabbits, and turkeys. We moved to the UP in 2014 from Northwest Indiana for a better life for our children. I love reading, working with kids, being outside, coffee, and my favorite animal is the T-Rex. I have a Bachelors Certificate in Elementary Education and have almost completed a Master's Degree in Educational Administration.
I love serving at LSCC where children can be introduced to a living relationship with Jesus. I like to play outdoors. A particular joy of mine is out of the way spots and adventures. My husband Jim is my cohort in these undertakings, as well as my 6 children. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Northern Michigan University.
I am originally from Ypsilanti, Michigan, which is just east of Ann Arbor. (Ironically, I am a dedicated Michigan State fan and not so much a University of Michigan fan). I have been married for six years to my wonderful husband, Glenn, and we have two kitties, Joey and Charlene. We have lived in the Marquette area for four years now. Glenn and I used to lead Children’s Worship service at our previous church down state. I have nannied for six years, from birth to age 13, both boys and girls. I have learned so much about children and have such a passion for their discovery and imagination.
My husband and I both love being outdoors, whether it’s taking a walk, riding bikes, hunting, fishing, or swimming. I love winter and love when I can get out and go snowshoeing or just plain play in the snow. I also love to sing, color, do laundry, and make lists. I love a good action, sci-fi, or comedy movie. I am a total Trekkie! My favorite book series is The Left Behind series. I am also semi-fluent in Spanish and have tutored and given private Spanish lessons.
I am a big picture person, but pay special attention to the details to make it there. I plan things out meticulously and take things one step at a time, in order. My nature is to procrastinate, but I intentionally take steps so I don’t. My hope and prayer for Children’s Ministry is to see children learn who God is, to know Him personally, and to worship their Creator with their entire being.
